Computer cheats

Cheats constantly. Rolls double after double, always gets the roll it needs, getting tired of having to try to beat something so unbalanced that its more irritating than fun.

Ads dont go away

This game had been great but someone needs to fix the game of war ad that wont go away. Very frustrating!!

CHEATS CHEATS CHEATER!!!!

There is no way this is random. Wayyyyy too many doubles for the computer and too many lucky breaks. Wish it was more realistic!!!!!!

Lucky?

Im not a lucky person but I know cheating when I see it. The "computer" gets more than its share of lucky and double rolls. Takes the fun out it.

Only fun if you like to lose!

Disappointed with the computer getting 3-5 sets of doubles per game. Computer wins about 75% of the time. Not fun when the rolls seem to be fixed to the computers advantage! Wont keep this app.

Too Many Computer Doubles

I generally didnt mind the computer getting a lot off doubles; figured Id be a better player because of the adversity BUT FIVE doubles in a row?!! Deleted.

Entertaining

Used to think it was stacked against the player but they have made improvements and now it is a great game with even chances and challenging.

Frustrating not fun

What a coincidence that whenever the computer needs a certain roll to knock me back to start, it always gets it. Too many doubles for computer. This game frustrates me more than challenges me. Computer cheats.

Agree with others definitely double mania

I completely agree with other reviews. Im not a programmer but seriously designers is it that hard for you to write in your code some remote random computer generated doubles rule? Is there no way to actually write in a fair AI game where they dont get exactly the roll its needs or more doubles than one could possibly get.

Best free game I could find

The ads are annoying: big surprise. For free game, it offers multiple levels of play and at the hardest level plays fairly well. You can shut off animations to speed to game up. While its not the best game around, seems to be The least annoying free one that plays at a decent level.

This game cheats!

The game always gets the roll it needs. Very frustrating!

Not fun anymore

I used to love this game, but now, between the force-fed video pop up ads which drain data and the ridiculous rolls the computer gets this game stinks. I have never seen so many consecutive high doubles. This is not fun anymore because no one is that lucky. Thumbs down Trivial Technology.

Very Good

My intention is to buy full version. It DOES NOT CHEAT. I beat it 3 times on hard level. Its in the roll( yes the computer seems to get many doubles when needed). However, a computer to my knowledge learns your "style". Playing for 25 years on & off, I do not believe it cheats. Put on easy or medium mode. Gosh, its free. Then buy full version. I enjoy it win or lose. You must take risks & of course if you play a harder level-the computer does seem to get a good portion of doubles. A computer learns from you, does not "cheat" I recommend this "FREE" version for learning. Thank you

Online play worthless

Limiting play to 3 simultaneous games with a 15-day timeout renders online play unusable. I am locked out of online play for two weeks, because two irresponsible players started games and walked away, and theres no way to cancel the games.

Whats going on?

Game of War ads at the start make the game unplayable. Cannot click the x in the corner to close out the ad.

Computer Doubles

Why does the computer always get so many doubles? To WIN??? All the time! I use to compete in Backgammon, Ive never seen any one person get so many doubles as the computer in this game. Dont you want people to like your game???

Bad logic

It is a good game to kill time, but if you really enjoy backgammon it is awful! To decide who starts, there is never a tie, so if the computer got a 6 you know you lost, it seems that the "hard/difficult" setting implies the odds of the computer getting doubles increases, and the logic as it brings its pieces home is just ridiculous some times, games that I couldve lost I end up winning. Again, nice if you want to kill time, thats it.

Backgammon

I have only played the 1-player game (vs the computer) and found several really annoying deficiencies. 1. There is no "resign" option so all games of a multi-game match must be played to the bitter end. 2. Some basic rules are not always followed, resulting in the computer making invalid moves. In a recent game the computer rolled a 4-3 and moved a checker 3 spaces and then declared it had no remaining valid move. While it was true that no checkers remaining could move the required 4 spaces, it was also true that a different checker could have been moved the first 3 spaces and this checker would then be able to move the required 4 spaces remaining to complete the move. As it turned out, this balk enabled to computer to unfairly retain a blocked point it would have to give up if it had made the move as required by the rules of Backgammon. So I lost this game and match and this angered me enough to sit down to write this review! 3. Even the advanced level does not understand basic strategy. I was behind 2-zip in a 3-point match, and had fallen a little behind in the game being played. At that score I am not allowed to double had I wanted to, so the only way for me to earn 2 points in this game is if my opponent doubles me and I win. This never happens in real life of course because my opponent knows all he needs to do is win a single point in this game to win the match. Guess what the computer did - it doubled me, I rolled some doubles, won the 2-point game it had created and then I went on to win the match. Did I mention this was the "hard" level?
